On February 10, 2020, Pi Alpha Omega joined over 300+ Sorors and guests for the annual Georgia AKA Day at the Capitol. This year’s theme was Exemplifying Excellence through A.K.A. (Awareness, Knowledge, Action) as we L.E.A.D. (Learn, Empower, Advocate, Decide).
Co-chaired by chapter member Michelle Arrington – members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated were galvanized through workshops that focused on Advocacy, the Census, and Black Maternal Wellness which featured PAO member and CEO of the Center for Black Women’s Wellness, Jemea Dorsey.
Workshops also included panels on voting rights and mobilizing black women to affect change. The luncheon keynote speaker was Judge Glenda Hatchett and the mistress of ceremonies was PAO member Rashan Ali.
